David Paskett PRWS in China

China continues to be a constant source of inspiration for my paintings. I am drawn to the markets, quay sides and junctions where bridges meet road, rail and water.

Always intrigued by back streets where daily tasks are performed with old buildings and modern architecture as a backdrop.

It may have been the momentary theatrical effect of strong light and shadow upon some otherwise unremarkable wayside paraphernalia, imbuing it with a sense of drama that made me take a second look.

Perhaps I would be halted in my tracks by a group of people and objects engaged in a 'visual conversation'. Or I would recognize a moment of enhanced tranquility in some quiet corner.
